St cedd's school qualifies for the national science quiz competition
semi-finals!
On Friday 18 November our Science Teams took part in the National Science Quiz Competition hosted at New Hall School in Chelmsford, Essex.
Our teams, composed of Year 5 and 6 pupils, worked together throughout the day. Both teams were in first place at various stages of the competition.
The quiz was exciting and nerve-wracking and, to the delight our pupils, one of our teams came first, beating the competition by over 300 points! They have now qualified for the semi-finals of the competition which takes place next month, and we will report on that event as it happens.
Our second team also did a fantastic job, finishing in fourth place.
"I am absolutely delighted with the result and very proud of the pupils as they have worked really hard." said Mr Talbot, Head of Science.
Congratulations again to both our teams - Thomas Callander, Samuel Aston, Jamie Morley and Khalen Kumarapperuma-Arachchige in first place and Joseph Ly, Ankita Tiwari and Rory Lewis in fourth place.
