St Cedd’s School Celebrates Outstanding Music Examination Results
A phenomenal 32 St Cedd’s School children were recently awarded passes, most of which were graded ‘merit’ or ‘distinction’, at Grade 5 and above in their Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) and Trinity Music examinations, excelling way above the expectations of their age range.
The boys and girls in Years 4 to 6 that took their examinations at the end of the Summer Term showcased their exceptional capabilities by performing to a high standard on a whole host of instruments, including the recorder, piano, oboe and trumpet, as well as singing, Grade 5 Theory and Music Theatre.
Music is a significant aspect of pupils’ learning experiences at St Cedd’s School and each child is offered the opportunity to be involved in an impressive array of music-making through the school’s extensive music curriculum and extra-curricular clubs, individual instrumental tuition, membership of an auditioned choir and participation in one or more of its many ensembles.
Head of St Cedd’s School, Dr Edmonds, says, “Once again, due to the hard work and commitment of the pupils and of the peripatetic teachers, the results are outstanding. Well done to all our musicians.”
