A Day in the Life of the Tudors
This term, Year 5 pupils thoroughly enjoyed recreating ‘Life in Tudor Times’. They were given the opportunity to make a vast array of objects used during the Tudor period. In the afternoon the children experienced a banquet. They took on the roles of performers from dancers to singers, actors and jesters.
This activity supplemented the learning they have been doing in class and brought it all to life. It was a truly magnificent experience, for both pupils and staff alike. “On Tuesday 8 November Year 5 had a Tudor Day.
The person who organised it was a man called Ian (Lord North) and he made us feel like we were real Tudors. This included Tudors looking for a job in the market and being young children, with ragged, old clothes spending their day working for a bit of money to help them buy food.” By Richard Carter.
